The A-198 uses a 50cm ribbon controller (linear position sensor) that also has a pressure sensor as well. Touching the sensor generates a control voltage that is proportional to the position of the finger on the ribbon.
The CV scaling is adjustable at the module, and a gate signal is generated on each new finger position. The CV can be held so that the CV is memorized when the sensor is released.
A pressure sensor generates a second control voltage depending on the pressure on the ribbon, the sensitivity of this is also controlled at the module, plus a gate signal is produced on each new pressure CV.
