The A-151 is like an electronic four position rotary switch. It includes trigger and reset inputs, four inputs/outputs and a common output/input. Each time a pulse is received at the trigger input socket the common output/input is connected to the next input/output. After the fourth input/output, the next trigger makes it step back to the first again, and so on.
Four LED’s indicate the active input/output (i.e. the one that is connected to the output/input at any particular time). A positive pulse at the reset input switches the output/input immediately back to the first input/out.
The Steps switch allows the number of steps to be set to 2, 3 or 4.
